Summer is here, let’s streamline our living spaces to create a relaxing vibe. Look at your outdoor spaces, are there clutter? If yes, it is time to declutter your patio, shed or garden spaces.

Decluttering those spaces can help you create a more functional and enjoyable areas for relaxing and entertaining. Choose a starting point to avoid feeling overwhelmed by attempting too many tasks at once.

Please give it a try.

1 Gather

Please gather items from one area. For example, if you are decluttering your patio, assess your big items and gather your smaller items.

2 Discard

+ trash immediately.
+ broken items that cannot be repair.
+ what you will not use again.
+ what you will not use in the next 6 months.
+ what you haven’t use in a year or more.

Tips:

+ Refresh items such as furnitures with a fresh coat of paint or refinishing them to give them a new look.

+ Keep only decors such as pillows, rugs, lanterns etc if they enhance the ambiance of your space.

+ Store the rest of your decors in your garage or shed and remember to label the containers. And rotate decors throughout the seasons.

+ Add some plants to your space even if you decide on faux plants. They can help add texture and color to create a welcoming space.

3 Organize

Place the items that you will use back into the space. Rearrange furnitures by zoning area for different activities such as dining, lounging or reading corner.

4 Manage

Managing is about maintaining. Time to revisit next summer for another decluttering session.
